In this video we learn how to draw in Apple's new programming language Swift using Playgrounds. Playgrounds let us 'get inside' the algorithms and that helps us get an intuition about how our programs are running. Links below.

In Xcode 6 two new interface builder declaration attributes were introduced: IBInspectable and IBDesignable. IBInspectableexposes class properties in the interface builder Attribute Inspector, and IBDesignable updates the view in realtime! They are pure magic!

In parts 1 through 5 we went over some basics of Swift, and set up a simple example project that creates a Table View and a puts some API results from iTunes inside of them. If you haven’t read that yet, check out Part 1 If not, and you just want to start from here, download the code for Part 5 to get started. We’ll use it as a template to begin. In this tutorial we’re going to do quite a few things.

In Xcode 6 Beta, Apple introduced Universal Storyboard - a single storyboard used to target multiple devices. This is a great enhancement to Interface Builder, because it enables developers to quickly build out views for multiple platforms in one concise space, rather than having multiple storyboard files connected to separate views in Xcode 5.

In this brand new original series based off of the official Swift programming book, I will teach you the basics of Swift. Swift is Apple's new and improved way for righting Cocoa. It is quicker, simpler and just more user friendly. Not to mention it is an update to it's 30 something year old brother objective-c. It is almost like a scripting language such as javascript or python. For the first part of this series I show you how to use the playground feature that Apple has added to the new Xcode 6 to write a simple 'Hello World' application.
