A class can inherit methods, properties, and other characteristics from another class. When one class inherits from another, the inheriting class is known as a subclass, and the class it inherits from is known as its superclass. Inheritance is a fundamental behavior that differentiates classes from other types in Swift.

Swift, being all the rage these last four days, has definitely livened up our programming chat room quite a bit. With cautious optimism, we (Betsy and Brad) delved into the Xcode beta, curious about the state of testing with Swift. For the purposes of this article, we’ll only cover the basics of unit testing with XCTest.framework

In this brand new original series based off of the official Swift programming book, I will teach you the basics of Swift. Swift is Apple's new and improved way for righting Cocoa. It is quicker, simpler and just more user friendly. Not to mention it is an update to it's 30 something year old brother objective-c. It is almost like a scripting language such as javascript or python. For the first part of this series I show you how to use the playground feature that Apple has added to the new Xcode 6 to write a simple 'Hello World' application.
